Time to celebrate!
    1977 - 2017

This year we have lots of reasons to celebrate:

It’s our choir’s anniversary – we’ve been singing together for 40 years!

Our director
Alan Landers is celebrating his own big 40th this year
– happy birthday, Alan!

And: We get to sing to our hearts’ content!

Another Birthday Celebration:

We already got off to a flying start with a performance at the 70th Anniversary of the Baden-Württembergischen Sängerbund, Kreis Stuttgart e.V., on April 1st.

Gospels Galore
On May 7th we participated in the St. Catherine’s Church’s Gospel Day at the Leonhardskirche, Stuttgart city center, where we sang several gospel songs and spirituals.

Transatlantic Encounter
Großer Kursaal Bad Cannstatt
Thursday, June 1st 6 p.m.
Entrance 10 Euros

We are proud and happy to present our American guest choir, the
Sanctuary Choir of the First Unitarian Society in Newton, Massachusetts,, under the direction of Anne Watson Born at the Grosser Kursaal Bad Cannstatt on June 1st.

The title of the concert, which the two choirs will perform together, ispan> „The Gospel Ship“ . It features gospel songs and spirituals as well as works by classical and contemporary composers such as Schütz, Bach, Gjeilo and Lauridsen. And there’s more: Our guests will bring along a very special treat for us all. We proudly present, as a European premiere, “Hope”, composed by Carson P. Cooman in 2010 and based on a poem by Emily Dickinson. It was dedicated to the Rev. Erin Splaine on the occasion of her installation as minster of the First Unitarian Society in Newton, Massachusetts.

Baroque Splendor
Leonhardskirche Stuttgart
Saturday, December 9th, 6 p.m.

After our first big highlight we will start rehearsing for the second one: Messiah by Handel, is a composition that is very close to our hearts – after all, this is how it all began in 1977. This work has become a fixture of Christmas concert schedules in English-speaking countries, and in the course of its long career the SGACC has performed it more than once.

This year’s concert will take place in collaboration with the Choirs of the Stuttgart High School and the
Gospelchor Pfäffingen , both of which are also under the direction of our director span> Alan Landers. We will be accompanied by the Orchester Russ aus Geislingen.

Come to one of our many concerts...
...or join in our rehearsals and sing with us!
